Today's prompt is Heartfelt Sentiments. This prompt made me think of love, of family and of how precious photographs are to me in capturing moments in time, moments that have the potential to live on forever - not only in one's heart or memories. I love old photos of family members and wish that we had more of them. Photos give the opportunity to look back in time and to remember how people, places and things once were. They provide the possibility of slowing down and taking the time to reminisce, to let the mind and heart wander and remember.
So today for this prompt I collected some of my mother's old photos of herself, some members of her family, a photo of my mum and dad, one of my sister and myself, and the place where I was born. As a background I used my dad's birth certificate and my grandfather's naturalisation papers to represent part of our family history, of how we came to be here. These photos to me are in many ways about my mum and I love this large photo of her, so I have placed her central with the other photos surrounding her, snapshots of people in her life. I suppose today's photo really isn't about the photo :-)
