I actually had a specific idea in mind for today's photo. Sometimes Oliver sleeps with his paws out in front of him and I thought it would be nice to get a shot with his paws in focus and fading away up the body. Today was one of the days when Oliver had decided to sleep in his cat bed. I tried moving his paws out so that I could get the photo that I wanted, but Oliver was not amused and I have the scratches to prove it. So we compromised - he actually kept his eyes open long enough for me to focus the camera on them and then I took a photo the way he wanted to pose :-) Gotta love cats!

On The Street: Life | People | Places
Ok, I admit it, this is not a photo of anything to do with On The Street. I did think about uploading a street photo from our recent holiday, but when I went to the photo library to have a look I realised just how many photos of streets there were, and how long it would take me to go through them. In the end I decided to run with the photo I took this morning. I guess this photo could fall under the heading of life. Our gorgeous boy Oliver is a silver, long haired domestic cat. What that really means is that anywhere or anything he sleeps on is guaranteed to be covered in fur before too long. To try and protect all our quilt covers I bought little beds for him to sleep in, and have placed them on beds in the rooms he normally likes to spend time in. And being a cat, the room changes on whim, his, that is. This morning I walked into the spare bedroom to find him curled up with all the stuffed toys and very studiously ignoring his own bed. I just couldn't resist taking a few photos of him. You can even see little puffs of silver fur on the leg of the clown. And no he didn't move after I took his photos. Whiskers: A Moustache | On A Pet | A Bristle I discovered today that dogs do not have as impressive whiskers as cats! I interrupted Oliver's cleaning routine when I went in to take photos of him for today's prompt. He really did not want to sit still for me and kept moving his head continuously making just that bit more difficult to get his whiskers in focus. This is the shot I went with as I quite like the soft focus of his whiskers against the black. This is one I took of Zimi. He was a little lost without Bella today. Bella's X-rays show age related arthritis. I've been told to restrict her exercise and to try and avoid over the top play. Hmm, not sure how to go about that one!
In the afternoon of June 8 we went for a walk along the path leading from the hotel. Couldn't resist taking this photo: what every good cat lover's car should look like :-)
On The Floor: At Eye Level | From a Low View | Resting On the floor. Hmmm, trying to get down low and take photos of the dogs is pretty much an invitation for Zimi to come and play with me. He really does think that when I'm down at his level it's time for some fun. However, by getting onto my tummy I did get some shots of Bella and Zimi that I quite liked and I've added them to the pets page (at the end of the page). Just to be fair seeing that the dogs often get a spot, I also took some photos of Oliver. He was on the bed, so that made it just a bit easier for me to take photos. I think he was enjoying looking out our new door as he can now see outside from the bed (it used to be a window) As per normal I had trouble choosing one. I sent a few suggestions to mum and Juanita and wouldn't you know it, they both liked different ones. Juanita liked the one I had originally liked so I decided to go with that one. Today's prompt is 'The Price' and my daily inspiration email with other suggestions hasn't come through yet. Actually yesterday's didn't come through until the afternoon. So seeing there's no photo to take just yet it's off to do some things around the house and yard, before I go off to buy more canvases for my painting. Gee, it's raining again and I'm down in the shed/office doing this. Hopefully it's only a passing shower.
Finally a prompt that has pushed me to have a go at creating a collage in Lightroom. I need more practice, but at least I now have an idea of what to do (thanks Carmen for the video tutorial on YouTube). I did take photos of all of them this afternoon, but only used the one of Zimi - the other photos are from previous days. Originally I tried these in colour, but I decided that I liked them all in the same creamtone preset. I would like to decrease the size of the border on the bottom - actually I think I'd like to reduce all of the black, but I've probably spent enough time on this for tonight. Aren't they just gorgeous animals! As an aside, notice that Zimi now has a tag attached to his new collar with his name, council registration number and my mobile phone number, as does Bella! Time to go and make some dinner. Night all :-) Short and sweet tonight as it's 7:30pm, I haven't even started dinner and I'm really hungry! I had hoped to get some photos of different types of birds at the feeder this morning, but they weren't being very cooperative. The inspiration email talked about perspective and getting a shot from the subject's eye level. As the dogs have featured quite a bit I thought it was Oliver's turn. There were a couple I liked. Which is your pick? Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!

ARCHIVE CY365 -2014
This blog started out to be about my first 365 day photography project - one photo each day - through Katrina Kennedy's Capture Your 365 challenge Blogs I followThe more I start looking at blogs the more I find that are interesting. This is not good. I can never remember where I found them. Not to mention how time consuming they can be ...
