Day 25: Hands
I wanted to do a photo of my hands but when I got started I realised just how hard it was to set up the shot using the tripod, the self timer and then trying to get my hands in focus when I couldn't look through the viewfinder. I chose to do this mainly because I don't like my hands - they are quite wrinkled (more than they should be for my age I think!!! ) and I'm not sure if you can tell, but I have primary osteo-arthritis and hence large top joints on quite a few of my fingers. I did cheat a bit and use the clarify slider in Lightroom :-) But they are my hands, they've done a whole lot of things with me and are still going strong :-) I think the photo has an air of calm about it ...
Now the photo of hands that I really like
I was aiming for a natural feel to the photos and basically tried to capture what the children were doing. This photo wasn't posed or set up. The little one was just starting to go up steps and his older brother automatically helped him. I love the way they are holding hands and the concentration on their faces is beautiful. I like how the light has caught the children.
