Each month one of the 365 challenges is a self portrait, and is one of the prompts I sometimes try to avoid if at all possible. Fortunately for me the day was really quite busy and I didn't have the spare time to set up a shot for the prompt. We caught up with my stepson, his partner and our grandson for morning tea and playtime at Shorncliffe Park, and then got home in time for me to babysit my grandson. This was going to be a first for me as Hunter had not stayed overnight before, so I wasn't too sure how it was all going to go. My daughter came around at tea time to visit as it had been awhile since she'd seen Hunter.
The biggest challenge I faced was getting him to sleep for the night. I only have a portacot, which he isn't used to sleeping in, so we thought we'd try letting him watch some of his DVDs to see if he would doze off. Hmmm, as to be expected - no such luck. The willpower a little person has when they are fighting sleep is amazing. He was quite tired and the DVD idea wasn't working so we turned the TV off, I picked him up, he snuggled into me and with a few rocks he was fast asleep … and slept through the night.
This is Hunter getting organised with teddy and his blanket to watch his DVD.
