My first thought for this prompt was sheet music, however I have taken photos of music before so thought I would go for something different.
Over the past week I have been sorting through boxes of memorabilia collected over some 35 years (it has been culled occasionally). I have been having a wonderful time looking back over my past and reflecting on the wonderful people I have known, friends and family, both. I must say it's been a great life and if I had to do it all again to get to where I am now, I would (well maybe a couple of little tweaks here and there - I think we all have those!). Looking through all of these bits and pieces reawakens such wonderful memories of people and places, and I am so very thankful and privileged for the opportunities and experiences I have had so far. There are sorrows in some of the memories, that is to be expected; life is not always smooth, however, this is more than countered by the many, many joys that make up the fabric of my life.
There were a couple of things I thought of for this prompt, things that came out of my sorting. I found some wonderful letters and stories written by my daughter when she was 6-7 years old. There was also a notebook that we used to keep by the phone for my children to take down messages if I was out. That notebook has a lot more than just phone messages in it, including a note from my daughter to my son saying that he was really a martian and had been adopted. There are some very 'artistically' decorated pages in it as well. I took photos of all of these.
However, it was this old diary that I decided to go with. My dad died in 1989 and for some reason I have this dairy (which wasn't used as a diary). In it, dad kept notes of things to do with our cars - services etc - but also his notes on his home brewing. That's what this page is open to - the brews he set up in 1987. It's a nice feeling to have a tangible link to him through his handwriting. The photo isn't particularly creative, apart, perhaps, from the processing, but it represents part of my daily life as it is happening, and a part of my life.
