I wandered down to the shed/workshop area to see what sort of neat things were in there to photograph for today's prompt. Given that we lived in the wet tropics in high humidity for 5 years, many tools and bits and pieces of things have gone rusty over time, so I knew I would have a whole range of choices.
As I was looking around I spotted this old tricycle, safely ensconced on a high shelf. My father found it many years ago, make that about 30 years ago, and did it up for my daughter. It was lovingly painted yellow and burgundy and given to Juanita when she was little. I do wish I could remember how old she was at the time. I possibly have a photo somewhere amongst my old photo albums and knowing me I'll probably finish this post and go have a look!
Juanita is now 31 and I still have this tricycle, looking a lot worse for wear, unfortunately. Of course, there is the question as to why I still have this tricycle among my possessions. At one stage I used the tray at the back as a pot plant holder and it sat out in my garden in Cairns - which wouldn't have helped with the rust either.
Now that I have pulled it down I think I might look into seeing if I can give it a new lease of life. I'm not sure if there is much I can do with the tray as the rust has gone all the way through in places, but maybe I can give it a good sanding back and repaint it. There's always google to help me on my way.
These were my two favourite photos out of the ones I took this afternoon. As yet I'm not too sure which one I will upload to the CY365 gallery. Thoughts? I think I will make my decision in the morning.
