This road upgrade near our turnoff is to turn the current two lanes into a four lane highway. At a cost of 24 million AUD and some 15 months of roadworks I'm not convinced it's money well spent as there are other spots that really would benefit from upgrades. I suppose it is progress, but I really did prefer the hills and trees. I probably should have taken a before shot before they started so that I had something to remember what it used to be like, but I didn't. This will have to suffice. It's funny how quickly it will all become the new normal and we'll have forgotten the previous road.
