Today was another day of driving and seeing the sites and getting home for a late lunch. Slowly the roads are being re-opened after the flooding making it easier to get to see the sites. Our first stop wasn't really planned - we rounded a corner and there it was - the Hammerschmiede Aggsbach-Dorf. The wildflowers are really quite lovely - very delicate.
June 9: Remote Control Today was another day of driving and seeing the sites and getting home for a late lunch. Slowly the roads are being re-opened after the flooding making it easier to get to see the sites. Our first stop wasn't really planned - we rounded a corner and there it was - the Hammerschmiede Aggsbach-Dorf. The wildflowers are really quite lovely - very delicate. We managed to get to Melk Abbey today and were quite impressed with the way the museum has been laid out. Lovely spot with great views over the town. In the afternoon we decided to do the walk up to the monastery on the hill above where we're staying. Not too bad a climb and lovely views from the top. Our last day here. We really enjoyed this area and wouldn't mind coming back. We finished off with a lovely dinner at a winery on the other side of Krems. Such wonderfully friendly people!
