Centred: In The Middle | Balanced | CalmThe reason I went out taking photos of the birds yesterday was to try and get one in flight and centred - specifically for this prompt. Pure luck getting this in focus as it didn't give me a lot of warning that it was about to fly. GalahsI noticed these two galahs around the bird feeder the other afternoon and they were good enough to not fly away as soon as I got slowly closer to them with the camera (which they tend to do). I managed to get these two fairly focussed shots of the bird flying back down to the feeder. I was pretty happy with them. Just another couple that I liked.
Traditional Attire: Native Dress | Classic | Historic I really like it when I can fit the prompts into what is actually happening in 'real life'. This was taken at my grandson's footy game. I love seeing the children dressed in their team uniforms and being so involved in the game and the teamwork that is required. Great skills for the future. Justin really shines; he's tiny but a little powerhouse and not afraid to tackle any of the bigger kids from the other teams. In The Shade: Under The Umbrella | Cool Down | RelaxIt's been pretty much a construction zone for the past week and even though the retaining wall is finished, the yard is now dirt and rock. Our outside furniture has been living inside so that it wouldn't get too dusty, the pool area is out of bounds and so there is very little that would fall into a 'relaxing space'. And it's cold. So there is no need to be cooling down or relaxing under a shady beach umbrella. I was out doing the usual afternoon activities when I noticed some lorikeets in one of our bushes near the house. As soon as I moved to get the camera they took off, but it reminded me I needed to do my photo for the day. I had the telephoto lens on and saw this cockatoo in our front yard. It was a bit wary of me as I got closer - that's the little head tilt you can see. I took a few shots through the fence, but by the time I got to where I would have an unobstructed view it flew away. We actually had some of the 'golden hour' as you can see by the warmth in the light. Not completely on prompt but I'm running it. Now to choose which one. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend ahead of you.
Wildlife Wonder: The Fauna | The Flora | OutsideYou may have noticed I missed day 153. I really didn't have a photo that I could remotely pretend worked. You may have also noticed I haven't yet gotten back on track with the daily photos. I think I'l get there ... It was so exciting spotting a bear by ourselves. Every other time we saw a bear it was only because someone else had spotted it. This was my very first spot - and the last bear we saw. No idea if it is a grizzly, a black bear (yes, they can be brown), or a brown bear. Taken about 10 metres from the car. The Chicken or the Egg?: Just Because | A comparison | Seasonal
Well I haven't bought any Easter eggs yet - that's on the still to do list (gee that's a long list!). So I decided to go literal for this prompt. Seeing there are no roosters in our chicken home the chicken definitely comes before the eggs. However, as it's getting cooler the egg production is slowly down drastically. This is Henny. Isn't she gorgeous! And I don't think there's very much more I can say about this prompt. Comical: Funny | Amusing | Humorous
Well, all out of creative ideas for this one so I took some photos of the rainbow lorikeets. Cheers: A Greeting | A Glass | A Toast
Well I've decided to run with a real life photo for today. I took my grandson to his first footy game of the season and took a heap of photos - as to be expected. There certainly was a lot of cheering from the sidelines as the kids were playing. |
