All these tiny little green things are hopefully going to all become mangoes, and this is just one flower head. At the moment the tree is really covered in potential fruit. Once they get bigger we'll cover as many as we can to protect them from the birds, but the birds will still have plenty from the top of the tree where we can't reach to cover them.
Oh, I am looking forward to next year when the mangoes will be ripening and ready for eating.

In A Bowl: Breakfast | A snack | Decor I had planned on making an asparagus, sweet potato and snow pea salad to go with dinner last night. That was going to be my photo for the prompt, as well as for my food blog. However, a few things were rearranged during the day, which meant I didn't go out to the shops to get the asparagus I needed for the photo, oops, I mean for dinner. I took a few random shots last night and didn't like any of them, so I redid the photos today. Our mango tree has produced quite a bit of fruit and yes, we've managed to save some from the birds. We have netting around most of the fruit that we could eat, although occasionally the birds are quite determined and managed to peck through the netting and get to the fruit. These are just some of our haul to date - we've eaten the others. ISO 320, 50MM, 5/1.8, 1/80 sec
And now that I'm already behind, I guess I better get moving on today's prompt! |
