I decided to run with a real life photo for today's prompt. Every morning after we get back from our daily walk (that is, Bella, Zimi and me) I put out birdseed for the wild birds. The feeder is in the front yard away and separated by a fence: away from the dogs who sometimes like nothing more than to chase the birds away - just for fun.
We have a pretty constant supply of a variety of birds, the main ones being rainbow lorikeets. I haven't taken any photos of them for awhile, so decided today was the day to do so.
The lorikeets generally don't seem to be too afraid of people, and usually I can get quite close to them. Even so I have used my telephoto lens to get these closeup shots, and I have cropped the photos just to emphasise their detail.
We had a little light rain this morning and it was amusing to see these birds all fluffed up with wet feathers. What actually caught my eye while I was watching them this morning was these two who were busy grooming each other. This isn't something I normally see. Aren't they such beautifully coloured birds?
Well that's the blog done, and on time, so it must be time to wish you all goodnight. Night all!
