New Birds
I think perhaps the local wildlife is becoming a little too tame!
These two crested pigeons have been hanging around in the chicken run lately, especially when I tip out the day's leftover grain and give the ladies new food, before they head off to roost. I was totally surprised to see just how close they came to me while I was standing there. They look to be quite young, but I have no idea how to tell. And each afternoon they have been in and ready to come on over when I bring the feeders out. Of course my girls seem to be more than happy to share their food with all the birds that come to visit!
For a change I had my iPhone with me as I was about to give Steve a call, therefore I was able to get a few shots of them as they came in closer and closer. I don't normally leave the feeder on the ground - I usually tip out the remaining old grain, top up the feeder and then hang it back in the coop. I was so surprised at these two that I put it on the ground. My ladies were quite happy with that arrangement. The little ones did come right up to the plastic lid to feed and I'm still smiling and totally amazed. I have pointed out to them that I'm a human, but it didn't seem to make any difference.
A little bit of HDR added in the Distressed FX app on the phone.
