Another one of those prompts where I didn't have a really clear idea of what I wanted to do for this photo. The daily inspirational email was about seeing the little things, about noticing the detail:
Taking a photo a day makes you notice the details. Slowing life down just a bit provides space for the small things to matter so much more. You’ll stop to notice the light and the way it rises above the horizon. The prompt will make you slow down to think about where you might find a heart or the color red. You’ll notice details where you didn't before.
I think doing this project every day (well almost) has really made me more aware of the little things, of thinking about how to photograph a subject, of the light and the shadows, the composition and the perspective. It is good to take some time out of my day to devote simply to looking at something in a new way, or seeing an event, a moment, that I want to capture. The daily photograph not only provides me with the opportunity to capture moments of my daily life, but it is also a discipline, especially on those days, or those prompts, where I just don't really want to put myself out or am not feeling terribly creative. Like today.
Our grandson was over for a short period today and was helping me put the clothes on the line when he could hear a 'whistle'. He wanted to know where the sound was coming from ...
I don't particularly like going shopping and doing the groceries, so I tend to put it off for as long as possible, as long as there is something in the fridge or pantry. Today I really needed to do a bit of a top up. While wandering in Big W I noticed these really cute measuring spoons and decided to buy them. They've ended up being my photo for today.
Well, that's it for me for tonight. Have a wonderful weekend!
