The daily email had a photo of gears for this prompt and so I went with that, although it could have gone different ways. What I wanted to do was open up an old watch and take a photo of the inner workings, however as Steve pointed out, today's watches are not gear driven- duh! Oh well.
It's amazing the things that this daily photo is bringing out of my cupboards and storage. Many, many years ago we had two of those sideboard parlour clocks - I'm not sure what the correct name is - and I've always wanted one of them. I now have one and knew for sure it would have gears driving it. And I knew exactly where I had put it when we moved in a couple of years ago. So out came the clock and I took several photos of the inner workings. I even got the key and got it going. However, I think it could need some attention. Fifteen minutes comes around every five or so and it doesn't chime accurately. I think I got two chimes at 4:00pm, and the minute hand didn't seem to move very far. Now that it's out I think I'll find somewhere to display. Oh, and thankfully there is a way to turn off the constant chiming.
I had two photos that I liked, so once again it will be tomorrow when I make a final decision as to which one I will upload. Of course, I'm quite happy for you to have a say.
