I still haven't figured out a mechanism to maintain the discipline of taking photos regularly though. By that I don't mean the standard family snapshots, or holiday snaps, or those quick shots that I take of some special instance. Those types of photos are extremely important to me and typically document the big moments and/or main events in my life. For example, how could I not take photos of our new, precious granddaughter?
However, the daily photo challenge pushed me to look at the little things, to take photos of objects and subjects that normally I wouldn't even consider worth photographing. These more creative attempts at photography capture aspects my life just as much as the big moment events. Life isn't made up of only main occasions, birthdays, celebrations, family get togethers or a holiday. Life is made up of the myriad of small things that are part of my daily existence.
So, while I am still to work out how to keep pushing and challenging myself I've decided to continue uploading photos. Perhaps not every day, but definitely more than not!
This was shot with my iPhone, trying to get as close as I could - so not quite a macro, but heading there. It's been processed on the phone with my usual apps - Distressed FX and Snapseed and then some exposure adjustments were made in Lightroom.
