Gee a prompt where I knew what I wanted to take photos of. I thought this one was a good excuse to practice some macro shots and work on really nailing a sharp focus.
I've often seen amazing close ups of animal's eyes and decided to give that a go. What I now would like to know is: how do they keep a cat still long enough to take a photo, let alone get the eye in really sharp focus? It probably didn't help that I disturbed Oliver from his sleep to shove a macro lens up close to his face. But he's a pretty good sport.
I like the look Oliver is giving here - definitely falls into the concentrate category, although I really think he was trying to pretend I wasn't there and doing the usual cat thing of ignoring me.
Oliver, still trying to pretend I'm not around and thinking about going back to sleep. Except the camera kept making noises.
And then there was Bella. She was pretty compliant and quite happy to sit for me. Did I say sit? She's actually lying on the ground and that's what her chin is resting on - it's a hard life. The main problem in taking photos of Bella was Zimi bouncing around letting me know it was getting close to play time. I did like the focus on her eye here and you can even see the individual eyelashes. Ah, she's such a beautiful girl.
As usual I took a heap of photos and now can't decide so I've gone ahead and uploaded all of the ones I narrowed it down to. Please feel free to let me know which one you like.
And off to make dinner. No new recipe or food photography tonight. I should get to eat early. Night all!
