Gone Fishin' : Fish | From Behind | Fishing Pole
There was no way I have anything remotely connected to fishing. The other part of the email was considering 'negative space' in the composition of a photograph. That's the space that surrounds the subject leading the viewer's eye into the scene and to the subject of the photograph.
I went out with the telephoto zoom lens to try and get a photo of a bird from behind with negative space around it, but couldn't get the birds to co-operate. To add to that was the amount of branches that interfered with the negative space. In the end I took quite a lot of photos of this cockatoo. This is From the side and upside down. It is on its way to get some food out of the feeder. I can't quite work out why it didn't just fly down to the dish instead of climbing down the chain but it did give me the opportunity to take plenty of photos.
