Have A Ball: Sport | Cut Loose | Fun
Ok, there was no way I could go past taking a photo of the dogs for this prompt. Besides, there were no sporting activities taking place that I could use for the daily prompt.
One of the things the email talked about was making the ball the focus of the photo by isolating it, using pops of colour, a blurred background etc. So the trick for me was to do exactly that. This shot was taken by moving the ball far enough away from Bella so that she would be very nicely blurred, but not too far that I couldn't get her in the frame. This involved being on my side on the ground, holding the camera on a different side to how I normally hold it for portraiture shots, and manoeuvring myself backwards and forwards till it all worked. Oh, and before Bella moved! I have no idea what the builders thought of this rather strange 55 year old getting up and down on the ground to take a photos of a ... ball? I must have been quite a sight.
This isn't the shot with the sharpest focus on the ball, but it has the best composition and I like how the tones all blend in with the blue of the ball.
