I think I've done quite a few photos on the general topic of travel and tour lately so I decided to go off prompt for this one. The daily email talked about preparing for a summer holiday - nope not just yet.
So I went for a wander around the yard and took some macro shots of some of our new plants. We bought quite a few of these orange hibiscus and they seem to be flowering every day - a bit of colour in the front garden which is quite lovely and they are a very bright orange. I'm surprised the photos I took came out as sharp as they did as we had quite a bit of wind while I was attempting to get the shots.
This is another new plant for our garden. It's related to the Alternanthera dentate (those purple leave plants) and is called Little Ruby. It is about one third the size of the normal plant which can get quite straggly if not pruned regularly and I'm not known for pruning on a regular basis. Little Ruby is a as ground cover and it adds a bit of colour to our garden. The flowers on this are really tiny - probably less than a cm. It was nice to have a bit of afternoon sun as it had been overcast for much of the day and that gave some of that orange glow to the light.
