Peaceful: Serene | Still | A Flower
We didn't get to see a lot of flowers even though it was technically spring when we in the Rocky Mountains. They had received more snow than normal, in some places up to 140% more, and spring was running late. What we actually got was lots and lots of snow.
Trekking through snow covered trails was in itself was very peaceful, especially on many of our hikes. Many times when we stopped walking and just listened all we could hear was complete silence - it was magical. There were quite a number of times when we were thigh deep as we made our way through the snow covered trails. I must admit it did take me a little while to get my head around the fact that we were not going to have the 'spring' experience I was expecting, but it was a wonderful trip nonetheless.
