After the terrible events of last night and early this morning in Sydney's Martin Place it was lovely to have my grandson over while his mum worked. We did lots of playing, took the dogs to the dog wash and got them smelling nice and clean and then he helped me with the Christmas tree.
Getting the tree up for Christmas has been on my to-do list for a few days, but I thought I'd wait until my grandson arrived today. It's a rather large tree and comes in three pieces. This is the largest plastic tree I've ever owned and it was bought for our first Christmas in the United Arab Emirates back in 1999. The house we lived in over there had massively high ceilings so its height was not a problem. Even our house in Cairns had high ceilings because it was a pole home so the tree fitted - just. However, our current house has standard height ceilings and the very top of the tree has had to be lopped so the the tree fits with a star on top.
