I was closing the shed last night when I noticed that the bushes outside were being lit by some lovely warm light - that special 'golden hour', as it's more commonly known in photography speak. So I grabbed the camera to take a few shots. There may also have been a touch of procrastination, as I was heading in to do a pump class.
The photo I took of the bush didn't come out very well - my fault totally as I hadn't checked the camera settings before I started shooting. However, seeing that I had the camera in hand I then wandered around the yard finding things that were being lit by the setting sun, and some that just missed it.
This is some sort of stone fruit we have growing in our yard. I'm not sure if it's a peach or a nectarine as the birds have beaten us to them before they ripened every year so far. This year we will cover it and see what it produces.
All the photos were taken with my nifty fifty lens - a relatively cheap 50mm with an aperture of 1.8 so it still gives a lovely blurred background. It also lets in a lot of light when needed as it was with these photos.

The same image converted to black and white. I'm not sure how I managed to get the polygon shaped bokeh in the background but I quite like it.
And here are the apple blossoms. Sorry for the multiple pics, but I really like these flowers and enjoyed playing around in Lightroom.
