A Perfect Duo: Two | Together | Complimentary
I didn't take this photo for the prompt and I didn't take any other photos yesterday, as I didn't have a lot of spare time. I got to look at the photos this morning and decided it was just right for the prompt. I had been videoing the dogs running around in the morning - this is after a long walk and breakfast and they were still running around. When they'd had enough they came inside and were grooming each other. A perfect photo opportunity. Even though Bella sometimes does get cross with Zimi, he has been really good for her. He has kept her active and running around, actually he has forced her to keep moving, as he doesn't tend to give up easily when he wants to play. There's 6 years difference between the two of them. It's hard to believe that Bella is now 11 years old as she is pretty active for a dog her age. In The Window: Framed | Displayed | Hanging Nope, no windows on my agenda, and the ones I did see while I was out really didn't lend themselves to photography! So a couple of quick shots for the prompt. The first one was arranging some rather old photos of the children that have been on the bench for quite awhile waiting for me to put newer ones in, and then get them up on the walls. And this one is of a rather weathered mobile that I've edited to give it a more interesting look ... this was taken with my iPhone and processed in Lightroom and Perfect Effect 8.
Imperfect: You | In Front Of The Lens | As You Are
Hmm, not really a lot to say for this photo. It's one of those repeating prompts - the self portrait with the theme of imperfect. I took my iPhone with me when I went for me morning walk with the dogs. In the mornings I kind of roll out of bed, put on yard clothes, have a cup of coffee, throw a cap on my (not brushed) hair and off we go. This is when I discovered that my arms are not nearly long enough. I was trying to get a photo with both dogs in it with me, but couldn't get the phone far enough away to do that. Bella was quite happy to be close to me, gave her a good excuse to lick my face, but then I couldn't fit Zimi into the frame. So, yes, imperfect, all those wrinkles that keep sneaking up on me, and then the photo is badly exposed. Definitely imperfect, but definitely real life! Look Up: Find | Above | Perspective
I took my iPhone with me on my walk especially for this shot. I'm running out of ideas of things to photograph at home for some of the prompts. Some are quite easy to fit into my daily life, or real life, others are a bit more of a stretch. Anyway as we were walking up this pathway I noticed the white bougainvillaea above me and took a few shots of them. I did some editing in Lightroom when I got home. I really like the delicacy and transparency of the white petals against the sky. PhoneArt: Filtered | Altered | Edited
This was taken on the iPhone and edited with DistressedFX on the iPhone before being uploaded into Lightroom. From there I played around with it a little more in Perfect Effects 8. There's so much you can do to a photo these days - which also means so much time to spend. I could have played around with other photos that I took for the prompt, but I thought I really should get more done than editing. On Their Terms: Ask Them | Limit Time | Their Expression
This prompt is another of the repeating prompt series. This time it is a portrait. Steve has been working in the Emergency Department of a couple of the local hospitals. This week he has had several night shifts (all shifts are 10 hours) and was just a tad tired by evening. We were planning on going to one of the nearby hotels for dinner, and I was going to get a photo of him while we were out. Anyway, as it got closer to time to go out he decided that he'd rather collapse in front of TV so I went out to get pizza. After dinner I asked him to pose for me so I could do my daily prompt - he promptly collapsed on the outside couch. I guess one could safely say this photo is on his terms. This was taken at night, in low light and with my iPhone. This is probably the least blurred and grainy of all the ones I took. I've played around with it to try and make it look 'better' - this is as good as I got. 365: The Number | Written | Found There are certain prompts that feature each month in this years Capture Your 365 - one is a self-portrait, another is Where I Stand. Today's repeating theme is Number and this time it is the number 365. I was originally going to go wandering down the street and take photos of numerals on letter boxes, but I ended up having to head into town which took up most of my morning. While I was in the shops I was beside the clocks at one point, so took a few photos with my iPhone of the numerals to play with. Must have looked a bit strange taking close ups of a numeral but what the heck. However, by the time I got home, unpacked, put the groceries away and had lunch it was time to get ready for my music lesson. By the time I drive there and back it was quite late in the afternoon. So I've only just now been able to get to the computer to work out how to put these numbers together. I've cropped and adjusted the numerals to try and get them in alignment and then made a triptych like I did for an earlier prompt. This was then exported to Perfect Effects 8 and manipulated a little further.
I've just noticed how long it is since I've uploaded a recipe also, so must get to that tomorrow. Irish: The Eyes | The Team | The Green
Yes, well, this is going to be a stretch. I was either in a train or inside a building all day. Saw lots of green around from the train and when walking to the offices, but nothing really to do with Irish. So I settled for the green building where we held our teleconference - the last interview of the day. As it was a pretty unremarkable photo I played around with it, just a bit to try and make it a bit more interesting. It was taken quite quickly on my iPhone. Two blogs and I think that's about it for tonight! Night all. Drive: Determination | A Car | Passion
I must apologise for running a bit behind with this blog. Life, you know, sometimes just gets in the way of spending time in front of the computer! This photo was taken on Saturday evening (the correct day) as we made our way into the city to see Queensland Ballet's Dance Dialogues. The premise behind Dance Dialogues is that young and emerging choreographers, as well as established choreographers, produce a new small work for the dancers of Queensland Ballet. They also demonstrate a piece that they are currently working on for their next production as well as and interview with one of the choreographers where the audience is able to ask questions. All in all, a great format and entertaining evening. Now, if I had been able to take photographs of the performance I would have gone with passion as the dancers have just so much of it! |
